The Joys and The Horror of Facebook!

What a cool site Facebook is I said to myself when I started using it a few years ago right before my high school reunion.  Talking to old friends that I had not spoken to in forever was so much fun.  After the reunion still being able to communicate with them on a daily basis I thought was great.  I go on Facebook everyday, love to see what my friends are up to, check out their status, love to see pictures of their kids and some of things my friends say on their status are hysterical.  Some of my closest friends make fun of me because I love Facebook so much, and I am okay with it, and am not embarrassed whatsoever with my obsession.  So I find joy on Facebook everyday, getting new friends and adding them is delightful.

Now to the horror. Why does Facebook allow anyone to post a picture of anyone they want to with no approval process in place??  I was horrified to find pictures of myself posted on Facebook from a recent party I went to.  Even more disturbing to me was why my good friend would post all of these pictures without asking if  it was okay with her friends to post some of these unflattering pictures.  I love Facebook but this piece of it really bothers me.  I try to be very respectful of all the pictures I post and always inquire first with my friends if it is okay with them.  After the above happened to me I decided I am not going to post any pictures on Facebook anymore except ones of myself.  Will just send pictures I think other people would be interested in through e-mail and then leave it up to them if they want to post the pictures.  To the creative team behind Facebook, you need to have a button that comes up and asks for your approval, where you can click yes or no to approve pictures other people are trying to post.  Then Facebook will be the perfect social networking site in my opinion.

The Ladies of the New Jersey Housewives

Of course we never know how much of what we see is real vs. scripted, but however here are my thoughts on some of the ladies of The Housewives of New Jersey and the recent drama that has been unfolding.

Danielle:
The most hated of all of the housewives that have been on any of the shows.
I also can't stand her myself. That being said in the most recent episode of RHONJ, she really made some valid points.  She was chased down, I have watched from day one, and as Theresa said you got me to this point.  Danielle has tried in anyway she could to become friends with all of them, and when that did not work she took to threatening them and stalking them first.  When they finally gave it back to her she runs like a scared rabbit.  Danielle you can't play innocent and then make comments like this: "one good smack to the head is all it takes to make another person never walk again".  I don't think that makes you look very innocent, not at all.  On the Bravo live show, she needs to respect herself more and put on some more clothes, also stop thinking anyone cares whether you are a lesbian or not, because we don't. throughout the place where the fashion show was, Ashley definitely attacked her and Theresa was running after her. They all looked like the crazy ones while Danielle came off as a victim.

Theresa:
My most favorite of the Housewives for some reason.  Even though she is my favorite, I have to take her to task a little bit in this blog.  I believe she is a really nice person, I also believe she sincerely did not like the fact that she felt that they were all at an event and could not say hello to each other.  Unfortunately though I do not believe for one minute that Theresa sat outside of the bathroom waiting for Danielle to come out, just to say hello.  I think Theresa goaded her and caused the scene that unfolded.  If Theresa sincerely wanted to clear up some things with Danielle she should have done so in a more private setting like Dina did, even though that backfired, it showed Danielle's true colors.  What happened with Theresa made Danielle come out looking like a victim and Theresa looking like a crazy person.  Again though anyone that has watched this show knows the opposite is true of Danielle.  Still love Theresa but have to call it like I see it.

Jacqueline:
You knew before you ever went to the fashion show, that something bad was going to happen, you should have followed your intuition.  The biggest problem with Jacqueline is she wants things to be both ways, she wants to be in the fray and then be the voice of reason.  I was glad she got it together to try to diffuse the situation but she added fuel to the fire first, by chasing Danielle and yelling accusations at her.  I think Jacqueline is sweet and funny but she is not stern enough when it comes to her daughter.  She lets her daughter get away with disrespecting her and then is shocked when her daughter disrespects other adults like Danielle.  The other thing is she only reprimands Ashley with another adult present like her husband, Caroline or Theresa, almost as if she can't handle Ashley on her own.

Ashley:
She is not a bad person, just has a lot of growing up to do.  Needs to learn her place in the world and needs some strong guidance to help her figure it out.  I think she was in the wrong to pull Danielle's hair, and I personally think she is lying when she says she did it because she though her mother had been hit.  If you view the scenes right before she pulled Danielle's hair, Ashley is standing right behind her mother and Theresa.  Her mother is screaming at the top of her lungs to tell Theresa to stop it.  So how could Ashley not have seen her mother and saw that she was perfectly fine. Even if she did think this, it would have made more sense to go find her mother than to pull Danielle's hair, it was uncalled for.  In the episode, Ashley right away says I pulled her hair because she is a *itch, then later realizes how serious everything was becoming and then decided to act all holier than thou, that she was protecting her mother.  When Jacqueline talks to Ashley at Caroline's house about Danielle filing a claim at the courthouse, she starts laughing and still seems to be very nonchalant about the whole thing.

Kim G:
What are you thinking about? Do you not realize that Danielle can see the show and see how two faced you are.  If you would have said to Danielle don't file a claim against Ashley, she probably would not have pursued it, but you stirred the pot.  After stirring the pot, you had the nerve to go to Jacqueline's house as if you are her friend and care about what happens to her or her daughter.  Shame on you for having no integrity whatsoever.

Caroline:
The most normal of the Housewives and the one that can be trusted the most.  Trying to live her life to the fullest, loves her kids and wants them to have a great life.  Is not happy about empty nest syndrome, but who can blame her.  Anyway Caroline in my opinion is the voice of reason.  She knew nothing good could come out of them all being at the fashion show with Danielle and she was right.  What she says to Theresa and Jacqueline sums up the drama that went down in a nutshell.  She said to them, "you gave her what she wanted, you proved her theory that you are the mean girls".  I hope Caroline continues to be real, because I for one find her refreshing.

Lastly, although he is not a Housewife, I have a few things to say about Bravo Andy.  People watch your show for the stars that you are interviewing, not to hear you just talk about nonsense.  Please stick to your questions, we wanted to hear more about Danielle's craziness, not you just talking about I don't even know what or why.

The Ending of The Hills: I am over it already.

As if the the last two seasons of The Hills was not bad enough, we sit through the finale of the show, which was not even worth watching.  Then I decide to stay up to watch the LIVE after show.  I can't tell you how disappointed I was.  There were so many questions left unanswered and can't believe how all sappy and loving everyone was.  What happened to these people actually not liking each other?  Or was that as fake as Heidi's new body.

First of all as soon as Lauren Conrad left the show, the reason most people watched it, the show should have ended right then and there.  Replacing Lauren with Kristin Cavallari was a joke, all of a sudden here she is out of nowhere, being friends with everyone and lo and behold her closest friend on the show is Stacy, the bartender.  What? Does any of that even make sense?  The two people everyone loved to hate Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt are not even on the show anymore and are not invited to the after party and not one person brings it up to say why they are not there.  Thinking the fans of the show just won't notice this is just plain crazy.  During the last season when Lauren was still on the show, Lo and Audrina did not get along at all and Audrina wound up having to move out, because they could not stand each other, now they are always confiding in each other.  The last biggest question is Lauren and Kristin supposedly mortal enemies are seen hugging each other and standing next to each other as the camera goes off on the live show.

Goodnight Hills and good riddance, the show should have been over a long time ago.  Regardless of whether it was real or not, I still enjoyed Brody Jenner and his beautiful smile, so for that I will be forever grateful.
